The Darkest Child

Mushy who is the eldest of the Quinns took her siblings out. This happen while her mother was out in the town having fun. Her reason for doin so was that she wanted them to have a good time. We also found out that the Quinns arent evil towards each other that it would have seemed earlyer. Tarabelle stayed home with the infant this probably had to she was scared to leave. Veing heavliy affected of her mother wanted her to be in the family business which is prostitution. This happen when she told her siblings of it and cry and ranned into the house. Her prostitution is what probably makes her evil or direct her anger towards her sibilings. Tangy Mae gets it more becasue she has the oppurtunity to go to school and doesnt have to work. She is evil toawrds her mom but doesnt show in a form of respect.

first off, Akela, you need to be more clear in your posts: sometimes the grammar and spelling mistakes can hinder understanding.

now i'll get to the actual subject matter: i challenge this notion you have of evil, as you seem to be throwing it vaguely around. you say the quinns arent "evil" toward each other, but you also say Tarabelle's prostitution makes her "evil." yes, often discussed in philosophy classes, but seriously, what is evil? are you sure that is the correct word to describe Tarabelle?

in my opinion, what she is forced to do is evil--because it is harmful to her and the people around her. it is lustful, dirty, breaks up homes, but most importantly (at least for purposes of this book), its screwing up Tarabelle. she is bitter, frustrated, angry and feels as though she is useless or powerless, as is often the case with victims of sexual abuse and sex workers.

why do you think Tarabelle was scared to leave? Consider the types of people that would be at the club.
